I’m Katie Silver, a health and science journalist working with the BBC in London.

Before this, I was a television producer with Sky UK and a television and radio producer/reporter with the ABC in Sydney, specialising in science and business.

I have also worked as a reporter/producer with Sky News Business and with CNN in New York.  Within CNN I worked on the newsdesk as a production assistant covering US domestic news.  I also worked with Special Investigations and Documentaries, where I was a stringer-producer in Australia.  I have reported for the MailOnline in London and New York as well as the Guadalajara Reporter in Mexico. I have also lived and worked in Argentina, filmed a travel documentary in the Patagonian region of Chile and did a placement with Indonesia’s public broadcaster as part of an Australian government-funded journalism grant.

I have degrees from the University of Sydney, in psychology, science and international business. I speak Spanish (pretty ok) and Indonesian (pretty averagely).
